People who suffer from chronic diseases need a lot of mental support because their health conditions are unnoticeable to others, and they suffer from pain inside. If someone has a physical problem such as a fractured leg or something, and if people start telling you that you are not trying hard enough to walk or that you are lazy, that’s the feeling people with chronic illnesses go through every day. Chronic diseases stay for very long periods. For example, cancer, chronic depression, diabetes, and heart disease deeply affect people’s health, not only physically but also their mental health.

So, instead of medical support, they need emotional support from others. This Instagram account “how.u.feeling” shares powerful messages to society to spread awareness about chronic illnesses. This activity will help people better understand and be more kind towards them. Keep scrolling below to check out some messages shared by them.

  1. I too have a very painful chronic illness. I have to go without sleep for days at a time until I’m so exhausted I basically pass out even though I’m on pain pills. They do not take my pain away. They make it almost tolerable. Tears are never far away and the pain is always there. I can hide my pain for awhile but then it gets the better of me and tears leak out. I can only manage a few steps at a time otherwise I’m in a wheelchair. But because I don’t look sick people judge you. I can’t grocery shop go to family parties can’t play with the grandchildren. My husband is my rock and the only reason I am still on this earth
