After coronavirus hit the world, most countries lockdown. People do many things to spend their time during the lockdown. So, this 33-year-old mom Caitlin Trantham also started a hobby to spend her time during the lockdown. She began to give old thrift store clothes modern makeovers because she has a passion for sewing and vintage fashion.
Catlin has a good experience in sewing. She initiated sewing at the age of 7 years old. Because she doesn’t have much time, she only started experimenting with clothing this year. During the lockdown, she had a lot of time to practice and do some projects.
Because thrifting is good for the environment, she has always loved it. It is also a fantastic way to save money. Most of the dresses and skirts she bought cost only a few dollars, and she never spent more than $10 on an item.
Catlin is always on the lookout for items that would make a garment special, like embroidery or embellishments. After she analyzes the material, she thinks of a way to manipulate it. Finally, she looks at is closures, buttons, and zippers kind of things.
